Friends of Belper Parks have been awarded a Town Council Award in recognition of the work done in helping to improve Belper Parks and Coppice car park

Planting of the first hedge in the Local Nature Reserve began at the end of December 2007 with a second work-party on the 6th January. A total of 160 trees were planted comprising of Hawthorn, Buckthorn, Blackthorn, Hazel and Field Maple all are of Native English stock, some supplied by Derbyshire County  Council under their free tree scheme, some purchased from a Flora locale approved source, and a couple donated by local people.
Planting of the next hedge will take place in 2009/10
The report for the Lottery Heritage Initiative is in the final stage of editing, and will be made available to anyone wanting a copy. The report is actually a History of Belper Parks from the 13th Century to today.
Amber Valley Borough Council have entered Belper Parks for a Green Flag Award 2008.
This will lead to a number of changes to the Parks. Please let us know via our Contact Us page what your impression of the changes are, be they good or bad. The judging takes place at the end of May.
